Water temp is starting to inch upward but still way behind what’s normal for this time of year. Northern are still in shallower water and not up on the reefs in big numbers yet. Walleye on the main lake has been good for Atikwa lake standards. We don’t get numbers here but do get some big ones. Dan Dougherty is leading this year with a big 30″ ‘eye and we’ve caught at least a dozen over 27″. But it’s very difficult to find keepers in the main lake. Debbie Lawonn Caught a nice 29″ walleye out of one of our portage lakes and we got a huge, 38″ lake trout the other day. Fishing has been good and the cool weather should keep them hitting.
